Recommendations based on experience levels

Novice Athlete

1 year or less running. 16 week program is recommended.

Intermediate Athlete

1 year or more running, previous race experience. 16 weeks recommended if weekly mileage is less than 20-25 mpw. If base is good, 12 week program will be sufficient.

Advance Athlete

5 years or more of running, multiple race distances.  A base of 25+ miles per week.  Emphasis on strengthening weak points.  12 week Advanced programs are recommended.
